Ann Arbor graphic design and advertising firm, Wagner Design Associates, has recently designed BioMatters magazine, a new MichBio publication that will serve Michigan’s bioscience industry. Wagner adds this magazine to a list of marketing materials designed for MichBio, which also includes a web site and e-newsletters.

MichBio (Michigan Biosciences Industry Association) is a non-profit group committed to promoting growth in the bioscience industry through education and networking, legislative and business advocacy, and communications programs, in an effort to bring together all facets of the biosciences community. The 40-page inaugural issue of Biomatters was released this fall, showcasing notable biosciences industry in Michigan.  Subsequent issues are planned, including a spring edition, which will include the organization’s directory. Wagner Design redesigned the michbio.org web site and e-newsletter communications—both used to give target audiences an overview of the MichBio organization and it’s numerous resources.

Every year the Pantone Institute releases a Fashion Color Report with it’s top ten colors for Spring. These colors are among what will be considered trendy for the year.

I saw this list in Communication Arts, which also said that “blue is the new green.” Then Jill brought in an article from the Free Press that said the same thing. So, it got me thinking, who is Pantone exactly? I know they’re the color people, but what does that mean?

I used to love playing with those color fans as a kid. I guess it’s no wonder I ended up working in a web design firm in Ann Arbor. I didn’t know I had Pantone to thank for all those hours I spent pretending to be an interior designer. Anyway, if you’re planning to repaint your dining room lavender, consider PMS 263. Or, if you’re designing a blue website or logo, think about using PMS 279, which reflects ecological and technical influences of our times. Or, if you’re looking for a new dress for say, the upcoming ADDY Awards gala, then set your sights on a hot little red number, like PMS 233.

The Drug Delivery Foundation is an international not-for-profit educational organization founded to promote education, training and research in drug delivery. Wagner Design created an informational website (www.ddfint.org), to overview its educational programs, which bring together a network of world-renowned experts in the pharmaceutical research field. Together they provide expertise in a variety of areas that assist in oral drug development, including drug permeability, solubility, metabolism, prediction and regulatory landscape. The web site highlights ODD09, a program developed to update pharmaceutical professionals on the aforementioned topics, as well as cell cultures, transporters and salt selection. Wagner Design also created a mailer, advertisement and email marketing campaign for ODD09.

JPASonline is a web-based tool developed specifically for county level jail and court administrators to help address jail overcrowding issues. The system gathers data from existing jail booking systems and gives the user instant access to information needed on issues such as length of stay, recidivism and sentencing trends.
