Wagner Design Associates recently created a magazine for Printwell Printing called Cover to Cover. From the wide scope of content to the unique design elements, this was a winning project. It was so successful that another edition is planned for the coming year, with our Ann Arbor graphic design and advertising firm slated to do the design and Linda Fitzgerald, of Fitzgerald Communications, to write copy.
The first edition magazine content explores many facets of the company and the printing industry itself. Some topics include, What Every Print Buyer Really Wants, The Search for Stability in a Printing Partner, Eco-Friendly Printing, and Finishing Touches for a Job Well Done. So, whether you’re coming to the magazine as a creative person, a print buyer, or just someone with an interest in learning more about printing, you’ll find something interesting in Cover To Cover.
The design features are great, too. Printwell is committed to green design and in one article you’ll see what soy ink looks like as well as learning about Printwell’s commitment to recycling and pollution control. What you’ll notice when you first touch the magazine is its unique feel. It could be described as soft and supple—almost like rubber and suede. At first touch, you might think it was an expensive paper, like Touché Cover, and it’s meant to mimic this type of paper, but it’s a varnish. So, for less cost, you can have the same effect. This is just one of the many cost effective print solutions that Printwell offers.

Every year CNN/Money Magazine issues a report on America’s Best 100 Best Places To Live. This July, Saline and Tecumseh, Michigan were both among the 2009 winners in the Small Towns category! Tecumseh stood at the 93rd position and Saline was 68th. For Saline, this marks the third year in a row the city has been included in the list. Qualifications include financial performance, education, health, culture, housing, leisure, and quality of life. Our own Jill Wagner, partner and creative director of Wagner Design Associates, is a Saline resident. And, production artist and photographer, Kristin Rueger, resides in Tecumseh.
But wait. There’s more.
Two of our many wonderful clients are important players in these towns. Ann Arbor SPARK, for which we’ve created identity materials, web site design, advertising pieces, and much more, is the economic development driver for the Ann Arbor region. Similarly, we’ve worked on identity materials, logo designs, and an annual report for the Lenawee Economic Development Council (LEDC), which fosters economic growth in Lenawee Township, including Tecumseh.
As a successful graphic design firm in Ann Arbor, we are excited to be connected to clients committed to helping Michigan grow, because we know Michigan is one of the best places to live in the United States.

Ann Arbor, Michigan
The University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center has selected Wagner Design to handle creative services for a major philanthropic campaign. The marketing efforts will help establish the center’s presence and increase awareness of cardiovascular issues in the minds of providers and community members. A brochure highlighting the center’s resources has already been completed. Future materials to be produced include a folder, profile inserts and a philanthropic piece.
Wagner Design’s clients include health care organizations such as The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, Ascension Health, The University of Michigan Executive Health Care Program, and Hegira Programs. The Ann Arbor graphic design and advertising firm has also added a number of retail, financial and high tech organizations to its growing client roster. They include ProQuest, All Media Group, Children’s Orchard, and Con-Way Transportation Services.
The University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center will bring together all of the University’s resources in heart and vascular treatment, research and education in a fashion similar to the Comprehensive Cancer Center established at the U-M Health System in 1986. With the new center, patients will benefit from better coordination among physicians and other clinical staff. Basic research will be brought to clinical application more smoothly. And everyone from medical students to practicing physicians to community members will have more opportunities to learn about the origin, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of conditions from high blood pressure and aortic diseases to heart attack and stroke.
